Fourteen types of Binoculars

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Once there was no much difference between one binocular and the other. According to the manufactures, the binoculars were estimated and rated verbally among people. Some companies were better known than others and as a result of it there was an existence of a price range. During the last few years, along with the camera, the iPod, and the personal computer revolution, a silent but not surprising evolution was occurring in the world of binoculars. The characteristics of various items prevailing in the market began to emerge in the production of binoculars which made the prices of the binoculars high. Many leading companies were involved in the production of the binoculars and this led to the false or maximum estimated prices.

In the modern day, there were binoculars with fourteen different types and characteristics. Each is considered as a separate category of binoculars. A binocular including up to four of the fourteen characteristics in a pair of binoculars is called “A Plus Binoculars”. The fourteen categories of binoculars are , , , , , , , , Compact, Dr/Br/Dt Series, , High Sierra Marine, , . “A Plus Binoculars” represent an item’s rapid growing popularity. It is introduced into the new generation in an exciting educational and financially feasible manner.
This new and diverse visual aid in the production of binocular is a mile stone and can be expect to follow the rise in popularity.

Award-Winning Protective Coating Readily Sheds Water, Oils – Enhances Ease of Lens Care

Chester, 02/02/2008. CHESTER, Va., February 2, 2008 – Carl Zeiss Optical, Inc.’s award-winning LotuTec™ water-repellent coating is now available on the lenses of its Victory Diascope spotting scopes– available in 65mm and 85mm objective lens sizes.

LotuTec™ – An Extraordinary Hydrophobic Coating Technology

With the application of LotuTecTM to the lenses of the Victory Diascopes, reduced image quality caused by raindrops, dust, smears and fingerprints is a thing of the past. LotuTec™ is a super-smooth coating for anti-reflective coated glass surfaces which repels water and oil, causing both to form spherical beads which run or wipe off with ease. Its properties are derived from a family of chemicals classified as “super-hydrophobic coatings” which ensure both durability and cleanability. If you are caught in a heavy shower and your lenses get drenched, a shake removes most water and a gentle wipe leaves the lenses spotless.

Oils from eyelashes or salts from sweat, even sunscreen and fingerprints, come off cleanly without smearing.

In addition, the LotuTecTM coating is extremely durable and resistant to abrasion. Light transmission through the lenses is not affected by the extra protective coating. Clean lenses give the best view, and with LotuTec™ coating, nothing could be clearer.Zeiss’ Award Winning Victory Diascope Spotting Scopes

Both the Victory Diascope 65mm and 85mm models incorporate fluoride (FL) glass in the Advanced Optical
System (AOS). This special glass provides the purest color and razor-sharp definition, edge-to-edge, in its class. Furthermore, the superachromat objective system eliminates color fringing and provides superior image contrast compared to models with two or three objective lenses thanks to Zeiss’ world-renownedproprietary T* multi-layer/anti-reflective coating. Available in a choice of straight or angled-bodies, both models include extended eye relief and twist-up eyecups. Use a straight-through version to easily observe at eye level. The angled-eyepiece version eliminates neck strain that viewing uphill may cause. This is also the best model to use with a tripod, as it can be positioned lower to the ground.

A wide-angle 30/40x fixed magnification eyepiece and Vario zoom eyepiece are available for the Diascope 65 T* FL and 85 T* FL models. Even at low magnifications, the zoom eyepiece offers an exceptionally wide field of view. The eyepieces feature a convenient bayonet mount with a safety catch for rapid changing. The ergonomically correct dual focusing system has two wheels for rapid focusing and fine
adjustment with one hand. This was designed to eliminate any accidental focusing change while out in the field. The partial rubber armoring in the gripping area ensures a firm, reliable grip in the rain while an integrated slide-out sunshade provides convenient protection from direct sunlight and rain. The sunshade also features a quick sight rail for lining up that distant object fast.

Housed in an alloy aluminum body, both models are corrosion-resistant and are the lightest in their class. The robust, water and dust-proof casing protects the Diascope when used in rough terrain or tropical climates even with the eyepieces removed. Rapid changes in temperature have no influence on its optical performance as nitrogen filling prevents fogging of the lens elements inside the casing. This is guaranteed by an industry-leading, limited-lifetime transferable warranty.

A wide variety of accessories are available for the Diascope spotting scopes including neoprene protective sleeves, astronomical adapters, various camera adapters for photography use and the recently
released DC4 camera eyepiece incorporating both an eyepiece and camera all in one trim modular package.

Zeiss Announces the World’s First Premium Laser Rangefinder Binoculars with and Integrated ™ Ballistic Calculator

Chester, 02/02/2008. CHESTER, Va., February 2, 2008 – Zeiss introduces the Victory 8×45 and 10×45 T* RF laser rangefinder binoculars – the world’s first premium binocular with rangefinding capability, and integrated ™ ballistic calculator. Hunters now have accurate distance to target and corrected ballistic holdover – programmable for 6 different common ballistic trajectories – at their fingertips in the field. In addition, hunters will experience crystal clear images thanks to the high-performance optical design and high-contrast . No more grayish looking images when trying to estimate the condition and size of an animal – a visual disadvantage typically found in rangefinding optics that use the more common, low-contrast LCD displays.

**Editors Note I have found these Binoculars at Eagle Optics and Binoculars.com.

Price Range $2899 to $2999.

No other binocular offers hunters the advantages of the Victory T* RF series with integrated laser rangefinder.

Bundled Functions:

  • Premium image quality
  • No separate laser emitter / third eye necessary
  • Accurate “One-Touch” rangefinding for a steadier image
  • Integrated Ballistic Calculator
  • with automatic brightness control instead of standard LCD display
  • LotuTec protective coating

Zeiss engineers and designers have succeeded in integrating a variety of high-tech functions into an elegant and highly durable magnesium housing resulting in a technical masterpiece that is robust, powerful, ergonomic and compact. The re-designed Zeiss optics guarantee maximum resolution, image definition, color fidelity and contrast to meet the needs of the most demanding hunters. The 45mm objective lens diameter provides 15 % higher low-light performance than 42 mm models thus providing enhanced visual performance at critical times such as dawn and dusk.

The Victory RF binoculars are the world’s first binoculars with a hinge bridge that do not require a separate laser emitter. The invisible, eye-safe laser beam used in the Victory RFs is particularly narrow, enabling the precise measurement of small targets even at long distances.

The One-Touch feature – a first for the civilian market – produces less shaking while ranging and therefore a clearer image. When the measurement button is pressed, the reticle used to target the object illuminates. When released, the range is immediately measured and displayed within 1 second. This generates considerably less shake and also saves time in comparison to other rangefinding binoculars on the market that require the user to press the button twice. The buttons for the measurement functions are positioned on the right-hand side of the binoculars so hunters can hold their bow or rifle with their left hand and glass, measure distance to the target and calculate trajectory with the Victory RF in their right hand if necessary.

With their state-of-the-art electronics, the Victory T* RF binoculars have a large measuring range from 10 yds to 1300 yds (depending on the size of the object, reflectivity, angle of impact and weather conditions), and high measuring accuracy of ± 1 yd at ranges up to 660 yds and ± 0.5% at ranges beyond 660 yds. The rangefinder can be set to meters or yards with the LED providing a clear numeric display with automatic brightness control to compensate for brighter or darker light conditions. It can also be operated in a Scan Mode for continuous measurements on small or moving targets.

The ™ (Ballistic Information System) calculator, working in unison with the laser rangefinder, provides accurate holdover correction for 6 different common ballistic trajectories based on the most popular hunting cartridges. The ™ calculator can also be programmed to work with 100 yard or 200 yard sight-in distances as well as provide measurements of holdover in either centimeters or inches.

The self-illuminating (Light Emitting Diode) is easier to read than the more common LCD displays (Liquid Crystal Display) and also allows significantly more light to pass for observation.

Zeiss’ world-renowned T* multi-coatings applied to the lenses enhance the clarity and resolution by affording truer color and higher contrast. These coatings also offer a higher transmission in the blue range, assuring brighter images and better colors in low light situations. In addition, these binoculars will come with Zeiss’ exclusive, award-winning LotuTec™ water-repellent coating on the eye and objective lenses.

The Zeiss Victory T* RF binoculars feature a durable, , rubber-armored magnesium housing ensuring years of protection against rugged use. Other mechanical qualities of these binoculars include twist-out 4 position eyecups which easily accommodate eyeglass wearers as well as an easy to use diopter adjustment. Offered in 8x and 10x magnification with generous 45mm objective lenses, these binoculars will complement a wide variety of hunting applications.

In a unit that is easy to operate and ergonomically brilliant, the Zeiss Victory T* RF binoculars represent the finest and most comprehensive optics in observation, rangefinding and ballistic correction.
